I Don’t Mind

5 Aug

A beautiful compilation of deep soul, psych, fuzzy folk, and of course, nut-busting funk. There are lots of rarities here.

The point of inspiration for the whole piece was Lee Moses, a forgotten soul artist who changed my life last winter. I’ve included three of his songs. Situating Moses against other artists on this mix reveals some interesting influences.

None of this would have been possible without Pete Beaver’s supremely good taste. (I owe my title to James Brown.)
